Default Is Porsche soon to be part of the VW group?

I hear that VW is going to buy all of Porsche. I am pretty sure Porsche is a privately held company, but I'm not positive. I know they used to have like a relationship and share parts but they weren't really together. But are they going to merge? Why? I thought Porsche makes a lot of dough. Are they going out of business?
