 How do I remove the shifter rod from a Jeep Wrangler YJ Tranny shifter assembly? I recently swapped out the transmission on a 1995 Jeep Wrangler. It had an AX-5 tranny. I went to a NV3550. The shifter is too short and I just want to change out the shifter rod and knob. It has a square male end on the part that inserts into the transmission and a square female end inside a 1.25" diameter round piece. It looks like it should just pull out, but it won't. I am wondering if there is some type of clip retaining it, but am not sure. Looking for answers...thanks.      |
