I just bought a 1978 Toyota Dyna Tip truck the tipper is a PTO type that runs off the gearbox. It has a 2 litre 5R motor.
Not sure if its normal but I struggle to get the truck up to 90km/hr even when empty and if there is a slight incline it will slow right down to 70km/hr and i have to drop it back to 4th gear.
Is this normal for the 5R motor, is there anything I should check to see why I am loosing so much power? what gearbox would I have in it?
What motors with more power will swap straight in remembering I have to keep the current gearbox so I don't loose the PTO tipper.
Hope you can help !!
