91 miata interior leak?

OK so here is the problem... inside of my convertible Miata, when it rains there seems to be a leak somewhere. it leaks right under the drivers seat, and where the gas, break are. i hate floor mats that cover it but it bugs me when i lift them up to clean them because all i see it a puddle of water on the floor board. any ideas on where it could be coming from? this only happens there, it doesn't come in on the passenger seat or on the rear area next to the rear window.
