Default Buying a car with high miles?

I've been looking at a 2003 Nissan Maxima with 160,000 miles and a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant with 114,000 miles, they both look good overall but what are things I should take into consideration before buying one or the other? And also what are the pros and cons of each of the cars such as reviews etc?

ask for a credit report for each car to see which one was taken care of better...and to make sure there isnt any hidden fees...

imagine you buy the car and the transmission blows out after 3 days because they just fixed the transmission temporarily

do your homework

and i think a nissan is worth more than a mitsubishi in the long run

Forget about the Maxima, too much mileage. The Galant could be worth taking on however, whenever you buy something with that much wear and tear it is vital to get it looked at by a competent mechanic who can tell you how well it has been maintained and if it will run for any length of time without major bucks being spent.
