Concerned about new neighbors? My wife and I were initially excited when our next door neighbors moved in because they appeared to be a "Leave it to Beaver" type family (Dad, Mom, and two teenage children). Our previous neighbors had really let the place go and threw horrible parties. The only thing which seemed a little odd was that they all drove the same type of car. There were four Ford Tempos in the driveway; two four doors driven by the dad and mother and 2 coupes driven by the son and daughter. I didn't think much about it until last Friday night I heard squealing tires and looked out the window to see the daughter's boyfriend picking her up in a Ford Tempo. That Saturday was their first barbecue/party. There were Tempos of all shapes and colors parked up and down the street Everyone was very friendly and nothing got out of hand but it was the weirdest thing I've ever seen. The next day the entire family was out front washing their Tempos together. On Tuesday I was driving to work and while stopped at a light I looked over to see my neighbor sitting next to me in his Tempo. He looked over, smiled, waved and when the light turned green he peeled out down the street like a maniac for at least a half a block. I don't think I gave him any indication that I wanted to race. I'm writing this today because I hardly sleep last night. The son was outside until 2 in the morning just sitting in his Tempo listening to 80's music and revving the engine over and over. Is there some sort of religious organization or cult following that is associated to the Tempo? What is going on here?
