I received an email about a used car I'd like to purchase.....is this a scam?
The vehicle is a 2005 Honda Civic EX Coupe with 38k miles. The price is 6800 which is great by blue book standards. Here is what I received in eMail from the seller.....
Dear "John"
At the request of "Joe", Yahoo is recording the transaction for item #250203067508 - 2005 Honda Civic Sedan.
We have verified seller's information, all the details of this transaction and we concluded that they are accurate. Our verifications confirm seller's contact info and his ability to deliver the merchandise advertised on our site. There is a limited group of sellers on Yahoo which we can recommend and "Joe" is one of them. Please follow our instructions to complete the transaction safely.
The eMail then says to send money to a Yahoo! Rep via MONEYGRAM who will hold the money for 7 days while I inspect the vehicle. If I do not like it then the deal is cancelled and I get my money back.
I can't find a single link on Yahoo! Autos that shows where they perform any such service.
