how do you buy a car?

well, by this beginning, it sounds idiotic. but really what i want to know is, after you give the guy cash for his car. you get the title,registration,keys. but he wont give you his tag. for this i want to know, can i drive this car home with no tag.as soon as i buy it, im driving it home. and i do have insurance. im 21 and im still young. ive had my parents come with me to get my cars, so this could be the first time im all alone in this car buying process. im not scared, but people that aren't experienced can be easily taken advantage of. so this dont sound so stupid. also since the folks think this car is too old, i will take a bus ride by myself to go get it. im going from orlando fl to fort myers fl. which is a 4 hour bus ride. i will have cash in hand from selling my '62 galaxie.
