Default If I buy a car outside the state of Georgia (where i reside) will I still have to

pay tax or any other fees? I am considering purchasing a car out of state. Is there a fee in Georgia for doing so? Will I have to pay sales tax?

Yes, you will have to pay taxes when you register the car in Georgia.

If that wasn't the case nobody would shop at the local dealerships they would all go to Chattanooga to buy cars.

Yes, when you buy a car out of state you will billed for sales tax when you register the car in your home state. I live in Connecticut but bought a car in New York. When I registered the car at home, I paid tax on the purchase to the DMV,
