What is a good first car?

Shoot me some ideas. I'm not a big fan of imports but i will consider. I plan to buy sometime in late December or early January after i turn 18 and get my license which will happen in late November.

I have $1000 saved up. And will have around $2000 by the time i plan to purchase. This will be my first car but i am no beginner to driving. I have driven for a while and all I've driven is my fathers 97 GMC safari.

I'm looking for a small/big truck or a car, no SUV's.
Something less than $6,000 bucks but with some balls and a big engine. I don't care about gas, or insurance. I work, have no bills, food, rent nothing to pay. All the paycheck is for me.

If you're going to tell me about your first car go no problem. but if you're 30 years old just know that it's harder to find a 69 boss mustang than it was back then.

Ford Thunderbird
Pontiac Grandprix GT or GTP
