How much is a 1987 Porsche 924 worth?

I'm trying to buy that porsche. The local seller a $1900 obo for it. Personally it is in poor condition. Dents and missing parts. Needs parts replaced. What should I get his price down to so I'm not at a loss. My opinion is $1000.
