Does a 1967 Buick GS 340 (California) have power steering as standard equipment?

My friend has a rare 1967 Buick GS 340 and she swears up and down that it didn't come with power steering. I haven't been given the chance to look under the hood but I told her that the power steering pump was probably out and thats why she had no power steering. She doesn't believe that so I was wondering if these cars came with that from the factory or if you had the option to leave it off.

Now I know most cars by 1967 (well most American cars) offered power steering and that it was standard on many models by then so I was finding it hard to believe that power steering wouldn't be a standard feature. Hopefully someone can solve this debate I have been having. I can't seem to find anything about the power steering for a '67 GS 340 on the Internet so I figured there might be a Buick expert on here.
