Default Porsche 944 daily driver?

Hi, i realize this is more of a personal question than i normally ask, but i think i need help. For a long time now i have wanted to get a porsche 944, actually ever since i first seen one, something about it drew me in. about 3 months ago while i was returning from work i got the random urge to visit the car dealership right down the road. As i pulled in i immediatly noticed it, a white 1988 944 sitting in the front of the lot gleaming in the sunlight. The next day i got my buddy and we asked for a test drive, since there are only two seats in the car(that can seat adults) the dealership just gave us the keys and let us take it around the neigborhood. i have to say the car met if not surpassed all of my expectations. My current car is a 2001 Subaru Forester L with 119K miles on it. It has got me from place to place(alebeit not very reliably) but as a car it does not quite meet my standards, especially since it is an automatic. I payed $4,700 for it, the majority of it was my own money but some of it was from my dad, he put the car under his name on the title. I am a person who loves to drive, i find myself finding excusses to drive somewhere, and loves cars. By the way, the porsche has 127K miles on it, and is in perfect condition body wise ( it is very hard to get there galvanized bodies to rust as i understant), and they are asking for $6,000. I asked the dealer about a trade in for my Subaru and i got them to offer $4,500 for it. I told my dad about the deal and long story short he did not think it was a good deal. After a little while more of pleading with him he still won't help me out. The main points he raised in his argument were the facts the the car is rwd, which typically do not perform as well in winter and snowy conditions(the car is NOT equiped with performance tires but high profile all seasons), the car also does not have an airbag for the driver or the passenger although it is equiped with 3-point active locking belts, and that some parts might be more expensive if it breaks. What i want to know is

1. How well do 944s perform in the snow compared to other vehicles( such as my awd, but not limited-slip, Forester) or other RWD vehicles.

2.how much will the lack of an airbag affect its safety if i wear a seat-belt

3. other than keeping up with the high matenence work, how reliable are these cars, after all i routenly see some with over 275K for sale for over 3 grande.

4. Do you think this is a good trade, i mean the trade in value is only $200 dollars away from the purchase price, and over all, do you think it is worth it.

5. Any methods i can use to convince my dad to help me out, i am 19 and attending college, his help is a must if i want to get this car.

At my job i am making somewhere between $400 to $500 a month. I could probably pay my dad off the difference and still save for college. I dont exactly have any bills i have to pay.

Sorry for the book, i am looking forward to your opinions, thank you
