I am now 19, and have been driving since I was 16. i ahve had one accident that was partially my fault (my fault by law, but the guy was drunk... long story).
Anyway... I have been super safe ever since then. I have a used truck right now and have taken it into the shop 30 times in the past 5 months alone. So, I need a new car. I want something sportyish looking, fun, and extremely reliable. So, I want opinions on the Mini Cooper (preferred experienced owners) I basically want opinions on each mini coop, what year would be best, better to buy used or new? Automatic or Manual (I am leaning automatic as I drive manual right now, and I feel automatic is safer). So,w hat brand mini cooper should I buy? What year is the best? Good gas mileage? Is it reliable? Is it safe (BIG decision factor here. i mean safe, I KNOW they are small, I don't want to risk dieing from a hummer or something that will tank me)? Do they need alot of repairs (is it costly)? Basically any and all opinions. I am leaning towards Hard Tops as I don't like loud noise plus I imagine they are safer. Plus they are cheaper. But I can be swayed... as I like convertibles! One small thing. Are Mini coopers considered guy or girl cars? I am gay, but I don't like to be a flamer, you know? Oh yeah, I would like one with good re-sale value and can last me a long time... 5 or more years preferably. |

No mini is safe, except perhaps the latest models. I don't think they had an auto, but perhaps I'm wrong. They are a prime example of British auto engineering-absolute rubbish. they stop when it rains, they difficult to work on, you need too many tools to fit all the different nuts bolts and screws and they require the patience of Job to get access to awkward parts. I doubt you could keep one from leaking oil, and the wheels are too small for safety in the large potholes our roads have. The tyres also wear too quickly. If you want something like that, try a Laser/323 or a Corolla-far better vehicles for a lot less money.
