How do i fix my 1994 Dodge Intrepid that is running weird?

I have a 1994 Dodge Intrepid and when i apply the brakes it begins to stop and just before the end of the deceleration, my car jolts and it feels like it is shifting down very hard at the last second. also i was on the freeway and i was driving about 50 miles an hour and the RPMs were at 5000. it felt and sounded like my car was going to fly away. i was on the freeway again later that day on my way home and i was going about 70 miles per hour. and my car stopped accelerating and all of the gages went haywire. i pulled over to the side of the road and turned the car off and then back on and it worked just fine except for the jilt at the end of my braking. please help me. is this a transmission problem?

dude those are one of the worst car ever made my suggestion is sell it and get you another car good luck
