why is my 2000 subaru impreza reving up in first and second gear when i give it gas?

i just put in a new clutch and i still had the same problem afterwards. its like there is a big loss of power in the lower gears and its not as bad in higher gears

it also makes a weird engine noise when i take off in 1st gear
