I have an 2002 Ford ranger... need some upgrade recommendations!!!?

My truck is still in california but i wan to upgrade the truck for speed, power and fuel economy. It has the 4.0 v-6 with the auto trans. What are some basic upgrades that are cheap but wont leave me on the side of the road. For sure a cold air intake is going to get dropped in. Yahoo, you decide what goes on and i will instal in to the truck!!!

for sure cold air intake is number 1, but to go with it i would suggest a bigger throttle body and new exhaust if u dont already have one, not the muffler the whole exhaust system. i would suggest a flowmaster or magnaflow. u can hear what the magnaflow would sound on the truck off this website.
