Default Subaru steering wheel shaking violently and then suddenly jerking it's self

to the right at high speeds.? I have a 1998 Subaru Legacy L with AWD.

While driving on the highway a few weeks back my husband pulled over because he thought we got a flat because the car suddenly became hard to control and the wheel suddenly started to shake violently.

There was no flat.

Well not driving at high speeds the steering wheel will shake and vibrate violently and sometimes suddenly jerk it's self to the right.

When it jerks we hear a noise like a click of some kind.

What could this possibly be and how much is this going to cost...

Thanks!

Your tires are probably off balance or need to be rotated. I feel like a nerd knowing this but my boyfriend is the assistant manager at discount tire so i hear about tires and stuff all the time haha that use to happen to my car and he balanced them and what not and rotated them i think and then it was fine. I would go to a tire place and ask them but thats probably it It shouldnt be to expensive at all if that is all that it is
