Default My 97 suburban keyless entry remote will only work when facing front of truck.?

When I unlock or lock the doors I have to be facing the front and then I have to move the remote around. I have replaced the battery. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be.
would buying a new remote solve the problem or is it another part?
