i have $2000 to spend on a truck and a friend who can do repairs?

not major repairs but basic stuff like radiator or head gasket stuff. i want to get a good deal maybe by getting a truck that already has problems but that my friend can fix for free so i can get a nicer truck (s10) for less money. what should i be looking for? what can i get with $2000? thanks
