Default is it true that if you have an Illinois Driver's license that you are also...

...required to get a car insurance? ok i just want to get a drivers license but i dont plan on driving any time soon. I just want to get it out of the way. however, my mom told me that if I get a license Im also required to get an insurance. Is this true?

i dont plan on getting a car nor using my license
