suzuki sx4 jx hatchback resale value?

consider to buy a suzuki sx4 jx hatchback, it is small enough for my taste and has 4WD. Test drive felt good. Then I found out the dealer has good financing for purchase but very high rate for lease financing. Basically they do not encourage lease at all. That means, they did not say, but I guess, the lease return is hard to get rid of. Then I did some online research and found out the resale vaulue is low. The questions come like, is this make a raliable car? it is made in japan, why is its resale value so low? any one know about this? Thank you!

By the way, also looked at Nissan Cube, a nice little car with all the features and fit in the budget. it is a new model just come out this year in here. anyone owns one and how is this car? My test drive is only limited to nearby city street, not enough for a solid feeling. Thanks again.
