how do i disable my viper car alarm?

a month ago i bought a used car with a viper car alarm system with the remote. Lately this would happen to me, the remote would work 60 percent of the time, then the other 40 percent it wont work. I would be pressing the unlock button many times but it still wont unlock, i wait a random amount of time until it starts working again, i can't keep on doing this for i will be late to things i need to attend. I don't know what the problem could be, the green ligt on the remote seems to work, i put a new battery a couple of weeks ago. Why does the alarm clicker work on and off? I've heard something about a valet button or something, but i don't know where it is. How do i fix this, or if not how do i disable it? The remote is a Viper CE0890, 2 buttons on top and a orange panic button i presume on the bottom, and my car is an integra.
