Default why can i hear the car motor through the amp and speakers?

well i installed an amp into my dads car and it was running all smooth untill he came home from work telling me the he can hear the car revs when hes driving.
i have installed 4 different cars with amps and my own car has 3 amps just in it so i kinda know what im doing.
can anyone please tell me what i did wrong and how to fix this noise problem. thank you
