running rough in morning, and any time after its had time to cool down?

spits, sputters, jerks, and wont maintain a steady idle speed, throttle has gotten stuck a couple of times, also my drive cycle has not reset itself after eight months of driving, 97 nissan pick up 5speed manual, advice please
