 Is it fraud to make a fake craigslist ad for a car so I can haggle the... ...price down at a dealership? I'm about to buy a car and I had the idea of making a craigslist ad offering to sell a car so that, when I go to the dealership, I could point to it and say, "Look, this guy will give me X price. Can you match that?" My friend said it'd be fraud and I could get jail time for it. Forget about how advisable it is, I just don't want to engage in any illegal activity. Is this legal?      |
