Default 97 Honda accord 180,xxx oil leak. mechanic says $800?

I was the one that wrote last night about the oil pan gasket being the problem on my accord. I guess I misunderstood my mechanic. He says the oil pump housing leaking. Here is his quote
retainer kit - ???
seal kit - $54
timing belt(s) $32 and $67
Labor - $512
other misc ~$30

Does this sound reasonable? Some people around town trust this guy, some don't. Should I try replacing the oil pan gasket first? Please let me know what you guys think. Everyone has been very helpful so far
