Default Should I buy a 86 300zx n/a for $100? It does not run. Owner says it is

a blown head gasket? I am studying to become a mechanic and i want the car so i can learn on my own how to fix cars.
I also plan to modify it if i can get it to run
Would it be a waste of money since the car is in really bad shape?
How much might i spend on getting the car to run. parts only since i would be doing the work?
