Issues with my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT.? For whatever reason, since Christmas of 2008 my vacuum line pops off. I will go to start it up and sometimes the RPMS jump to 2 or 3. If the car actually stays on, it will come back down to it's normal place and all is well. However, sometimes when I start it up, a few seconds after ignition my vacuum lines pops, the car shuts off and I have to place the hoses back into their housing unit before attempting a restart. Other times, if I start it and allow it to idle it will just die with or without the vaccum line blowing.
So, getting to the point I have had a lot of people tell me to replace the housing unit for the vacuum line and possibly the hoses as well. I am wondering if these problems could truly be a defective vacuum line or perhaps it's all just a symptom of a greater problem. |
