VW Passat: How can I make the radio display the clock?

I have a 2006 VW passat, but the radio deck/unit was replaced to the 2008 model version. It has the black with silver buttons. I am wondering how I can get the clock to display on the screen instead of just the radio station? I saw that it was possible when getting a ride in another passat.
