Default My Mercury Sable 96 accelerates to much?

My Mercury Sable 96 engine accelerates to much specially after it rech its normal working temperature. I don't even need to press the gas pedal to drive at 50 mph in straight roads. When I stop and shift to parking or neutral, the engine start accelerating uo to 3000 rpm. It dosn't happen when is cold. Does somebody have an explanations to this? What can I do?
