How do you manually deflate the air suspension on a 1996 Lincoln Town Car? 1996 Lincoln Town Car, Executive: 4.6L, V8.
(Rear) passenger-side air suspension bag is FUBAR but, driver's-side seems to be fully inflated. I turned the Air Susp. switch in the trunk, "off"-- hoping that it might slowly deflate on its own after a while, like the ones in my '99 Grand Marquis do but, about three weeks have passed w/ the switch "off", & it's still as inflated as ever!
I haven't the money to make the "air-to-spring conversion", nor the desire to, quite frankly-- as she's a '96 and has many other problems that take president.
SO, obviously, she's lop-sided at the moment, which creates somewhat of a safety/drivability issue, aside the fact that she looks REALLY "trashy" ridin' down the Boulevard all jacked-up on the left-front side!It would be nice just to deflate the other one, too--for the sake of symetry, so she'd at least appear level across the rear-- and not simply broken!
Is there safe/relatively easy way for a shade-tree mechanic to deflate the bag, or am I just SOL for the moment?
Thanks, in advance! |
