Default why is saab's resale value so low?

on kbb, 2003 saab 93 is suggested at $6500 for a certain mileage. 2 of my friends bought one for 6000-7000. at the same time, a honda civic 2003 at the same milage is suggested at $8500.

the saab is considered a luxury car with turbos and 200hp with decent mpg. the civic..is a civic
do saabs break down more often, and at lower mileage?
