Default 08 Prius or Civic?

Should we get the 2008 Hybrid Prius or the 2008 Civic EX. At 21,500 the prius costs about 1,000 more than the civic. but the MPG is 45 to 29. The only thing that worries me is the lifetime, warranty, and cost of battery.
my concern is the battery, how long is it covered under warranty ?

I love Honda, but I would say with rising fuel prices the prius is the way to go.

Wow, Prius! I've already owned two Prius' and they have both been phenomenal! I've had absolutely no trouble with the battery! And when you think about it, the money that it costs to own a Prius is technically taken care of by the money you save on gas! Civics are nice too, but the Prius is awesome! Hope I could Help!

Prius without a doubt. It is so good with gas that demand is so high and supplies short. They've been selling like hotcakes and the prices will soon go up by $1000. I work at a Toyota dealership and people fight for those. We have the biggest inventory in the region and we still sell out. My husband has a civic and it's a great car but if you're looking to save on gas and at the same time pollute less, there's nothing better than the prius. I would get the camry hybrid because I like how it looks but it isn't as good in gas as the prius.
