Default what is better 2.5" 0r 3" pypes exhaust for a 87 monte carlo ss?

383 motor
700 r4
daily driver
full length headers with 3" collector

this is the same combination i had with my caprice classic, 383 stroker with a 700r4, mine was a small block, short track racing engine. 2.5 is better. however, it may be a little bit more restrictive on the exhaust end, i would reccomend a cross pipe from one side to another after the catilitic converter, this cross over pipe will make up for the extra half inch loss on the diameter with no backflow restriction. any other questions let me know. thanks Best of luck with your monte ss
