Default Selling a VW Beetle with an open loan to Carmax?

How does it work? I owe a little over 5 grand on my beetle and the KB is around 7. I'm kind of hoping I'll get 7 but if not it's ok. Well, how does it work being that there is a loan on the car still? Do they pay the bank and refund the left over? I am a little confused. We are supposed to be taking my car in to see what they say but I don't want to go in without knowing the details.
