Default Anybody switched to electronic pointless ignition on a VW Beetle?

I am having a hell of a time getting my 1971 VW Beetle to run. Car was sitting for 6 months, and previous owner removed plugs, wires, coil, points, condensor, etc. When I put it all back together (using new genuine Bosch OEM parts, of course), I can't get it to run more than a few seconds. I am tired tired tired of trying to find TDC, adjust points, and all that other stupid garbage. I want to get a Hot-Spark or Pertronics system to make my nightmare vanish. Anyone use them and want to comment?
