What is a fair price to offer the car dealership for this used SUV? My husband and I went minivan/SUV hunting today with a budget of $20,500. We told the salesman our budget was only $19,000-19,500. The one we decided on is a 2003 GMC Envoy XL Sport Utility 4wd, with lots of extras. He then sat us down, and showed us a paper he printed out on this vehicle, stating the price of the vehicle, which was $18,889 and included taxes, taxes, and $399 for sales commission (yes, it actually says that). The total was around $19,800. I checked the Kelly Blue Book value with all the options our vehicle had and they value the car at $18,985. Now, this car is in pristine condition with low mileage for the year (like 43,000 miles). What do you think a fair price would be for us to offer? Will the salesman get more than just the $399 stated on the paper? It is at a Marine Chevrolet dealership in case you are wondering. We want to get the SUV tomorrow, so any answers will be appreciated. Thanks for answering!!
I am not trading in a vehicle for this one - this is going to be a second vehicle. My zip is 28546. The SUV has a 4.2 liter engine, 6 cylinder, 4 wd automatic, with a/c, pwr steer, pwr windows, pwr door locks, tilt wheel, cruise control, am/fm, dual front air bags, abs 4-wheel, roof rack, privacy glass, SLT (whatever that is), rear air, multi disc cd plyr, premium sound, front side air bags, leather interior, dual pwr seats, sun/moon roof, running boards, premium wheels, and OnStar. I am already preapproved by my bank, so I will be going in tomorrow with a check for alot more than the price of this vehicle that was given to me (but HE won't know that, hahaha). |
