Default saab 9-3 soft top failure?

my saab 9-3 soft top (2001) has developed a problem over night (again) when opening the roof the rear window catches release and that is as far as it will go there is no noises or anything like that and after a few seconds the roof failure warning appears on th SID. ive read that sometimes the shear pin breaks is this true ,and if so how is it fixed many thanks deano

either a pin or a tannuae swithes.... the pin is very complecated to do u gonna activite the 5th bow n thee bring the tannuae in open position by pushing it down n then u gonna remove the pin n istalled the new pin in the right position ..if i were u bring it to the dealer

Well,you do have to use the GM oil so don't try to use anything else it will kill your system. You will have to flop your rear seat back down to reveal the pump cover in the passageway into the trunk. The cover is held by 8 bolts and you will see the reservoir plug. Remove the plug and you can check the level of oil. It should be right at the bottom of the plug hole. Add fluid as needed and replace plug.You have a leak somewhere either in a hose or hydraulic cylinder. There are 10 hoses and 5 cylinders and none of the parts are cheap.
