Default 1990 chevrolet 1500 pickup??

Hello,

I have a 1990 chevrolet 1500 pickup. When I run it a very short distance, turn it off and leave it sit, It will not restart without pumping the gas pedal. This is not the case for longer distances. After longer trips it will start right up with no problem. Could it be the fuel pump?
wow didn't realize I came here for a spelling lesson

This is a common problem with the early 90s Chevy small blocks with the TBI fuel injection system on them. My 93 Caprice has the same problem. Yours sounds a little more advanced than mine but you might try running fuel injector cleaner through a few tanks of gas and see if that helps. If that doesn't help you could try replacing the charcoal cannister (black vertical cylinder usually near the left side of the radiator). Good luck and I hope I could help.
