1987 Toyota Van - Good car?

I'm interested in buying a 1987 Toyota Van for 1350. It's a bit rusty along the bottom, and it doesn't look too bad on the underside. The clutch firm as well, and it seems to shift well. It also has 298,000 clicks on it.

I was just wondering, a question specifically for people who have driven/owned/maintained these vans, what the running costs are usually, how hard it is to find a mechanic who knows how to work on them, common problems, what to watch out for, etc. etc.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm taking the van in tomorrow for a pre-purchase inspection as well.
The front windshield wiper motor is also broken. How much does this cost to replace?

I strongly advice you to not waste your money on junk.

Why?
The car have go0ne through all ware and tare stages. you might have to see the mechanic daily....... new cares/vans aren't expensive at all this year..
