What are the common problems or risk of the Cadillac north star engine?? I want to

buy a 98-02 deville....? From word of mouth, i've always been warned about northstar engines with headgasket issues amoung of things..but why????

I love cadillacs my first car was a cadillac but everyone even my uncle (who is a auto mechanic) is advising that I not get a cadillac with the northstar engine?? I love my park avenue but I still want a second car an eldorado or deville but all the models I like have the northstar engines!!
