Or is there a penalty for not getting it to the dealer?
So I have one yes and one no. I live in Michigan. Any difference? The life of the lease is almost over.

intended) to take? Whether I buy new or used I have to get a loan. I've looked quite a lot online and it appears that if I want a quality used car (Honda, Toyota) with low mileage (no more than 60K miles) I'm looking to spend as much, if not more than just buying a brand spanking new, lower quality vehicle (Kia, Chevy, Scion etc) I'd prefer a Honda or Toyota, as I previously had a 98 Civic, and loved it, but it was stolen last week. Now my husband doesn't want me to get either make because of the high theft rates.
I was looking into the Kia Forte, Kia Soul, and a couple other smaller/cheaper/fuel efficient cars. I've heard that in the past, Kia's have been horrible cars, but recently have really stepped up their game, as well as having the best warranty available for the price. I'm going to be spending a lot of money in comparison to what I make, and would like some opinions as to what I should do. I could go really cheap and just get a clunker for 2 grand but would more than likely have a lot of problems with it, spend a lot in repairs, then have to get another car in the near future. Any takers?

Ok. So I know a lot about cars and I'm thinking of cars I could get for around 12k or less. What came to mind first was a SRT-4 I have always loved them. Or maybe a civic hatchback, the newer one though from year 00-02 I believe. And then a WRX. I would like something Turbo'd. Any other suggestions. Please post your reasons why to so I can kinda of sift through the options myself.

Thanks in advance
