Can I get a muffler for my 2001 Audi A6?

When i look under my car, i can see that my mufflers are not a normal rectangle shape, can i still install a muffler? If so, what would be the best for a deep, powerful sound?

for an example, when I'm driving at 40mph @ 2000rpm, at constant speed, the rpm jumps up a little to about 2100 rpms and goes back to 2000rpm and repeats every two seconds or so. i feel a little kick when it happens, feels like the transmission or might be the turbo kicking ON and OFF. When i accelerate, the problem goes away, and then it comes back when i stay at a constant speed.
it always happens when i stay at a normal speed.
there are no check engine lights or any other problems with the engine or transmission

automatic transmission - 6 speed
1.8L 4cylinder turbo
front wheel drive

please help
thanks
