1994 Mercury Tracer

Does anyone know how to fix the fuel shutoff light on a 1994 Tracer.I have a 1994 Tracer. The fuel shutoff light came on while driving. Now it will not start. Does it just need to be reset? If so,How? Or could something else be wrong?
