momentum MINI of Houston SUCKS! I am going through an ordeal right now. So my Zippy rattles and shakes at 38k right out of maintenance. Took it in: turbocharger is dead. Oh well, the service advisor, Johnny, is very nice, although he has to order me a cab because the loaner was taken. That evening he gives me a loaner. The next day he tells me I am due for an oil change (the computer shows about 990 miles left). I say "How come when I was under maintenance you never let me change the oil until I'm within 100 miles?" "well, it's low anyway, i am telling you as a friend, it's better for your car". yeah, wasn't it low before the maintenance ran out? The next day he calls back: BMW of NA denied coverage under the warranty program because my first oil change was done at 22k miles, 4k miles overdue. I start arguing that I took it in when the computer told me to he says come argue with the service director. Which I did. I was also arguing that I did go there often enough to ask for oil changes and each time they said "when the computer tells us to". However, they didn't have records for any other visit between 11k miles and 22k miles. Which is what they submited with bmwna. Well I happen to remember taking the car in for some flat tires (with the aforementioned road hazard warranty) and so we start looking through the records. Well, not a tire, but a brake problem around 19k miles, but they didn't record the key reading. However, if we do the math, 22k miles oil change 4 k overdue means at 19k miles I should've had a change oil or service engine soon light. So I think well this only shows that the light wasn't there (Or they are incompetent, but I didn't say that). I say "let me call BMWNA to check with them" and bmwna - case agent name TINA - tells me the service adviser should forward the "new" information. So I call Rodney, the service director at Momentum, and he says "well it's your responsibility to make sure you get the maintenance". I thought my head would explode. WORRY-FREE maintenance? HUH!

Jason Lee was good and courteous, however he made me order the car way in advance of the launching day.
But then when he took me to their financial person (Ross) switched the APR they offered me to a much worse one (7.5% instead of 5.5%) "oh well, you can refinance" (which I eventually did). Then, he sold me an extended warranty (for around $2700) "throwing in" road hazard "on him", and claiming that, since the brakes need to be replaced after my warranty ends, I would have them replaced under this extended warranty. Turns out that the road hazard is included in the EW anyway, and no, the brakes are not covered under warranty, but under a maintenance program which I didn't have.
