I'd like to communicate my case involving Mercedes Benz of Austin
falsifying information and CREATING a new identity for me in order to sell /
force a car onto me at a 14.9 percent interest rate.
It was a Sunday night,
and I was confident that I would have no problem getting a good rate
through any bank at that time because I had a 635 score, which wasn't awful.
But they basically told me that it would be "best if I drove the car home
that night to get it off the lot and come back tomorrow" for the final
paperwork. I stupidly did so and when I came back the next day and told them
I wanted my old car back, they said it was too late because they'd acquired
a loan for me from Capital One with that interest rate and the deal was
done.

For 2 years I've kicked myself over and over again, asking myself
how I let that happen to me. Until recently when I called into CapitalOne to
Update some information. When I dialed in my social, the computer didn't
know who I was. After speaking with a customer service rep, we realised that
they had a name that wasn't mine (it was my married name from 10 years ago)
and all sorts of incorrect information. Mercedes Benz of Austin used the
WRONG social security number (it was off by 2 numbers) and essentially asked
for credit for someone and a social security number that did NOT exist.
