I purchased a new car. I’ve had several issues with sales. I was told that license plates couldn’t be transferred due to “clunkers” program rule. I found out later there is no such rule. Because I was purchasing the last car they had in that type, they took advantage on me: removed their promotion 0.9% financing, instead I’ve got 5.9%. They gave me market up price on a vehicle. Also, they added as they say “extra care” for the customer: mandatory protection for over $1000. Usually it’s optional. After purchase was finished they proudly announced that they gave me a favor to fill my tank full.
I’ve had some further conversation with the sales manager by phone, he was extremely rude.
Did you ever try to negotiate the purchase price of a car and then have the salesperson ask you to sign your name to a meaningless piece of paper and "pay an escrow" before he'd give the sales manager the offer?? Well, it happened for the first time in my 30 years of buying cars, here at Autobarn Mazda in Evanston. "Why, I asked the salesman, do I need to give you my charge card before my offer is made??" " So that it's a committment on your part, " I was told. Make sense? Nope. As I was leaving in a huff, I confronted the "general manager" (Don't know his name, as his nametag only reads "idiot patrol" ) "You made a ridiculouly low offer," he replied. "Why, then I asked him, do you want an escrow payment with the offer?" Blank stare. Lots of luck trying to buy a car from these guys. By the way, this is also the only dealer who adds a $700 destination charge to the INTERNET PRICE of a USED car AFTER YOU walk in the door!!
THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE COME ACROSS IN MY LIFE.I WENT IN WITH A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THEY CHANGED STEERING WHEEL SENSOR AND TOLD ME I NEED TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PUMP AT $1900 THEN MAYBE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL GO OUT OTHER WISE WE WILL HAVE TO TRY SOMETHING ELSE I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT I WAS HEARING.AND THEY CHARGED ME $190 FOR THIS ALTHOU MY CAR WAS STILL UNDER FULL WARRANTY.
ANYWAY I TOOK MY CAR TO MULLER MAZDA IN HIGHLAND PARK AND THEY REPLACED TRANSMISSION SOLENOID VALVE UNDER WARRANTY. AND CAR IS RUNNING PERFECT.CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS GONE. AND THEY SAID IF THERE IS ANY PROBLEM BRING IT BACK. THAT IS WHAT I CALL SERVICE AUTOBARN MAZDA ARE THE BIGGEST RIP OFF ARTISTS I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS.
