We were traveling Denver to Austin with auto owned 2 wks. Had engine problems in N.M. No rpm, check engine light, esc light on with engine dieing often. Have to stop and restart in few miles. No service garage for many miles. Got to Amarillo but after hours for Kia garage. Did get to Lubbock by next a.m. and looked up Kia service center. ” Gene Messer Kia Dealer” called early to service center talked to Mr. Randall telling of engine problems. Told to come right in and he would try to get me back on road soon. Our car was taken in very shortly and trouble was found right off. Itwas found by hand held reader. Problem was a throttle sensor 1&2 correlation. Dave had the balance of system checked for possible problems. We were in and out in just a little over an hour. We were back on the road completed a 4,000 mile trip without any additional problems. NO CHARGE for the complete service. This is real service and I would used this dealer for regular service if I lived in the area. Mr. Randall and his service department rate A+ with us. Messer give this man a great rating. I am very dissatisfied with my purchase at Gene Messer Hyndai. We came in with a diesel pickup to trade in. First of all, the sales manager did not know it was a diesel. He kept asking if it was a V6 even after taking several pictures. Then, we were ready to leave the lot without buying a vehicle when the sales team “lost” our keys. They spent 30 min trying to find them! (we were there over 3hrs). That time frame was a good time for the sales manager to make his next “move”. He talked us into buying the Kia at a specific price, “out the door”. It sounded reasonable but they pressured us too much that we realized (after the fact) that it was not a good deal. Once we went to the finance department, the price when up drastically than the initial amount we signed “out the door”. We went ahead with the purchase. But overall, I am disappointed in the way we were served. I would not buy from this dealership ever again!
