After a test drive, I asked the salesperson to work up a monthly lease payment with all charges rolled into the payment. He gave me an offer in writing, which included a $1200 discount.
When I reviewed the information, I discovered that sales tax had been added in to the capitalized cost of the car. I called them on this (on a lease, tax is based on the monthly payment). They admitted they had made a 'mistake', but then out of nowhere, they added in a bank fee which compensated for taking out the tax.
In short--the $1200 discount was not real--it was added back with the tax. When I caught them on this, they still tried to take it away with the 'bank fee.' I went to Motorworld, where they gave me straight, honest numbers. Interestingly, they charged no bank fee.
I've been advising people to avoid Toyota of Scranton. They can't be trusted.
